The Bogie is the first machine designed in the tunnelling industry for the displacement of the formwork between all the crosspassage tunnels. Several safety features such as interlocks are installed which ensure health and safety. The Bogie uses hydraulic jacks to adjusts its height and has adjustable off ramps that could reach into the cross passages, even if the secondary lining is not cast. This means that a movement can be reduced from 2 weeks to 2 days.

The innovations listed above allows the construction of the cross passages to run concurrent with the platform tunnels as the formwork could be moved quickly between locations. The ability to quickly demob after completion in an area means the track-bed and platform slabs construction could then commence unhindered. The Transport Bogie has been nominated as “Highly commended” for Product / Equipment Innovation of the Year during the NCE tunneling awards 2016.
