Project information: The HS2 - C1 project is a key component of the UK's new high-speed rail network, covering around 21.6 km of infrastructure, including twin tunnels and a viaduct, to connect London and Birmingham while overcoming significant geotechnical and design challenges. Kern Tunneltechnik has supplied an innovative Service Dismantling Gantry for the project, designed to efficiently remove tunnel services such as ventilation ducts and pipes using an innovative magnetic lifting system, semi-automatic roller system, and adaptable rotatable legs to navigate complex tunnel environments, thereby enhancing operational flexibility and safety.

KERN Tunneltechnik have been recognized with the prestigious Product Innovation of the Year award at the British Construction Industry Awards and with the Health, Safety & Wellbeing Initiative of the Year at the NCE Tunnelling Festival 2024.
